INSURANCE
Global Shipping Company offers premium insurance because
the coverage offered through freight carriers is often
greatly restricted. These restrictions can come in
the form of limiting your shipment to a cost per pound,
or possibly restricting particular categories of items
(for example, high replacement value or rare collectible
items)
In addition, our experience has taught us that freight
carriers often will not honor claims based on concealed
damage. In other words, if your item inside the
box or crate is damaged but the crate itself has no
external damage, you may not be able to make a claim.
This sort of damage is often not discovered until long
after your shipment has been delivered. Our goal is
to resolve all claims within 90 days, and we take care
of all the paperwork.
In order to protect you and your valuable shipment
from this dire situation, we offer full insurance coverage
through Acuity Insurance, Inc.
At Global Shipping we do all the paperwork and documentation
for you – one more way how we save you time and
take the hassle out of shipping. All documentation
is available upon request via fax, postal or email.

Insurance guidelines:
- The cost of insuring any
given shipment will vary based on the contents
and the mode of transportation.
- Any
single piece of freight valued over $2,000
that is shipped via motor freight, air freight,
or internationally MUST be fully enclosed
in plywood crate – a
service which we are proud to offer on most
all shipments to keep you in compliance (see
packaging services).
- You must provide proof
of value in the form of a sales receipt or
appraisal from the preceding year.
